01 Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly and information generated automatically when you use the app.

Information you provide:

• Account details — your first name, last name, phone number, and email address when you sign up.
• Location information — city, state, and ZIP code you enter during onboarding so we can show relevant bounties. We do not collect GPS coordinates.
• Profile photo — if you choose to upload one from your library or camera.
• Payout preferences — your preferred payout method (bank account or debit card). Full financial account details are collected and stored by Stripe, not by us.
• Lead submissions — when a referral you share results in a customer inquiry, we collect the customer's name, phone, email, address, and message as entered by that customer.

Information collected automatically:

• Referral link clicks — when someone clicks your unique referral link, we log a click event including a timestamp and the bounty associated with the link.
• Device push token — if you allow push notifications, we store a device token to send you updates about your leads and payouts.
• Usage data — general app activity such as screens viewed and features used, collected in aggregate to improve the product. We do not use third-party analytics SDKs at this time.

02 How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your BountyBoard account.
• Match you with relevant bounties based on your location.
• Track referrals from your unique link to job completion.
• Calculate and release payout rewards when jobs close.
• Send push notifications about lead status updates, payout releases, and important account events.
• Prevent fraud and enforce our Terms of Service.
• Respond to your support requests.
• Improve the performance and features of the platform.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your information to serve third-party advertising.

03 Referral Tracking

Each referrer receives a unique link in the format bbountyboard.com/r/yourhandle. When a potential customer clicks this link:

• We record a click event linked to your account and the specific bounty.
• The customer is shown a landing page where they may submit a service inquiry.
• If the customer submits a lead, the lead is linked to your referral handle.
• We share the lead details (customer name, phone, email, address, message) with the business that posted the bounty so they can follow up.

Businesses can see all leads attributed to a referral handle but do not see your personal profile information (email, phone, payout details) unless you choose to share it.

04 Payments & Payouts

All payment processing is handled by Stripe, Inc. When you connect a payout method:

• You will complete Stripe's identity verification and account connection flow.
• Your bank account or debit card details are entered directly into Stripe's secure interface and are never stored on our servers.
• We receive a Stripe account identifier that we use to initiate payouts on your behalf.
• Stripe's privacy policy governs how they handle your financial data: stripe.com/privacy.

We store payout transaction records (amount, date, status, associated lead) to display your earnings history within the app.

05 Push Notifications

If you grant permission, we may send push notifications to your device for:

• New lead status updates (e.g., "Your lead has been scheduled")
• Payout released confirmations
• New bounties posted in your area
• Important account or security notices

You can opt out of push notifications at any time through your device's Settings app. Disabling notifications does not affect your ability to use BountyBoard or receive payouts.

06 How We Share Your Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share information only in these circumstances:

• With businesses you refer to — when a customer submits a lead through your link, the customer's contact details go to the relevant business. Your referral handle is visible to the business; your personal account details are not.
• With Stripe — for identity verification and payout processing.
• With ServiceM8 — if you are a business user, lead data may be synced with your ServiceM8 account to create job records. ServiceM8's privacy policy applies to data processed on their platform.
• For legal compliance — if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of BountyBoard, our users, or others.
• In a business transfer — if BountyBoard is acquired or merges, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to the same privacy commitments.

07 Data Retention

We retain your account information and referral history for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account:

• Your profile data (name, phone, email, photo) is deleted within 30 days.
• Lead records associated with your handle are anonymized — the lead data itself is retained for business recordkeeping, but your name is removed.
• Payout transaction records may be retained for up to 7 years to comply with financial recordkeeping requirements.

08 Your Rights & Choices

You have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct — update your name, phone, email, or location from within the app's Profile screen at any time.
• Delete — request deletion of your account and personal data by emailing us.
• Opt out of notifications — via your device settings.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@bbountyboard.com. We will respond within 30 days.

09 Children's Privacy

BountyBoard is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us at privacy@bbountyboard.com and we will delete the account promptly.

10 Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including:

• All data transmitted between the app and our servers is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS.
• Our database is hosted on Railway with access restricted to our application servers.
• Passwords are never stored — authentication is handled via Apple Sign-In and phone verification.
• Payout credentials are held exclusively by Stripe and never touch our infrastructure.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at support@bbountyboard.com.

11 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If the changes are material, we will notify you via push notification or email at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use of BountyBoard after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
